The historic King's Road over Filefjell opened in 1793 as the first road for horse and cart between east and west. The most spectacular section of the road went over Filefjell, and in recent years, large parts of this passage have been restored into a world-class hiking route. You can use Sommerhotellet as a starting point to experience the entire route or as a base for one or more day trips.
