Grindane

About the Hike

Grindane, with its impressive and distinctive profile just south of Vangsmjøsa, is a peak that everyone with a connection to Valdres should visit. You will enjoy fantastic views over Lake Vangsmjøsa and Vang village. The path is well-maintained but somewhat rocky towards the end. This hike is suitable for children with some previous experience.

How to Get There

Turn off the E16 one kilometre east of Vang, following the sign to Helin, and continue up into the woods. After passing the first barrier, continue for 4 kilometres and go straight at the junction. Keep going until you reach Grøvstølen, a cluster of summer cottages at the western end of Helin. Here, turn right (another barrier) and follow the path uphill until you reach Grindatjednet. Parking is available at the western end, where you will find a sign for "Grindadn."
